New Department Chiefs Sworn In

January 1, 2012

Congratulations to our new Township Chief Don Colarusso.  Also sworn in was the new Assistant Chief Steve Conklin.  Congratulations and best wishes for a Fire Safe Year.  Thank you to our out-going Chief Paul Annunziata for keeping the Township Fire Safe.

 

Passing of Michael J. Brown

October 27, 2011

The Fire District is saddened to report the loss of State Exempt Fireman Michael J. Brown of the Shark River Hills Fire Company.  Mr. Brown was a past Chief of the Neptune Fire District 1, Chief of Shark River Fire Company and mentor to many of our current Shark River Hills Firemen.  He will be greatly missed.  Our condolences go out to Jimmy and his family.

 

Fire District Election Results

February 22, 2011

Congratulations to Frank Martuscelli and Todd Puryear who each won another 3 year term as Fire Commissioner.  The Budget was passed, with 70 Votes Yes, 45 Votes No.  Thank you to all who came out for the vote.

 

Passing of Chief Annunziata's Mother

January 31, 2011

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Township Chief Paul Annunziata's Mother, Caroline Annunziata.  Our condolences go out to Paul and his Father Frank (a former Township Chief) on their loss.

Hometown Heroes at Summerfield

October 8, 2010

Summerfield School sponsored a Touch-A-Truck event as part of their weeklong Book Fair on October 6, 2010.  This year's theme was a salute to our Hometown Heroes.  Neptune Fire District 1 was there with apparatus from Station 1, Station 2 and Station 3.  Fire Prevention materials were distributed to the kids and parents.  Thanks to all the volunteers who came out for the kids!

 

Home Depot Community Day

October 7, 2010

Neptune Fire District 1 was out promoting Fire Safety again, this time at the Home Depot on Saturday October 2, 2010.  Hamilton Fire brought out their aerial 34-1-90 as well as the pumpers 34-1-75 and 34-73.  They did hose demonstrations with the kids by helping them to hold the hose while they knocked down the simulated fire.  Unexcelled Fire showed off the new aerial 34-4-90 as well.  The winners of the Give-Away Items doned by the Home Depot were:  Gary Taylor - Smoke Detector, Hurd - Smoke Detector, Robert Simpkin - Smoke Detector, and Zac Lavigna - Fire Extinguisher.  Thanks again to all who participated!

   

                          

 

 

JSUMC Community Day

September 29, 2010

Neptune Fire District 1 showed its community spirit by showing off Unexcelled's 34-4-75 and the Assistant Chief's vehicle at the JSUMC Community Day on Sunday September 19, 2010.  Fire Prevention materials were handed out to those who stopped by.  Congratulations to the winners of the Give-Away items donated by the Home Depot:  Danielle Murphy - Smoke Detector, Dawn Lane - Smoke Detector, Lina Hahneman - Smoke Detector, and James Goldstein - Fire Extinguisher.  Thanks to the Volunteers for making it happen!!

 

Notice of Special Meeting and Location change

September 20, 2010

     There will be a special meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners on Tuesday October 19, 2010 at 6:30 pm to obtain voter approval on the Capital Appropriations to be included in the 2011 Budget.

     The special meeting and the regular scheduled meeting for the Board of Fire Commissioners will be held at the Shark River Hills Firehouse located at 200 Brighton Ave in Neptune.

Neptune Day 2010

Thanks to all the volunteers that came out for Neptune Day on Saturday 9/11/10.  Unexcelled Fire brought the new aerial 34-4-90 and Liberty brought their pumper 34-2-75 to display. Fire Prevention information was handed out and kids and grown-ups alike enjoyed learning about the new trucks. Congratulations to the following winners of the Give-Away items donated by Home Depot:  M. Passing of Robert E. Kyle

September 13, 2010

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Past-Fire Commissioner Robert E. Kyle.  He was a retired Captain of the Jersey City Fire Department.  His two sons are members of the Hamilton Fire Company.  He will be truely missed.

 

Captain Fitzpatrick Award Winner

May 19, 2010

Congratulations go out to Natalie Manco from the Hamilton Fire Company who graduated last night from the Monmouth County Fire Academy at the top of her Firefighter 1 Class.  She was also the first recipient of the Captain Fitzpatrick Award for being the overall best firefighter in the class.  Captain Fitzpatrick was a well respected instructor and legend at the Fire Academy for many years.  Captain Fitzpatrick's sons presented the award to Natalie at the graduation ceremony last night.

 

Firehouse Weight Loss Challenge - Update

March 26, 2010

The Unexcelled Fire Company team members are turning into the Biggest Losers for the Food Bank/Altantic Club Weight Loss Challenge.  They are 5 weeks into the 8 week contest and are currently in 1st Place with a total weight loss of 177 lbs!!  Lou Carlson has lost 44 lbs, Joe Mauro 38 lbs, Bob McDonald 39 lbs, Lester Harker 31 lbs and Phil Williams 25 lbs.  Way to go guys!!  Keep up the good work!.

 

Riding Assignment Training Class

March 19, 2010

The Neptune Fire District 1 will be conducting a training class on Riding Assignments presented by the Monmouth County Fire Academy.  The Class will be held Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 7:00 pm at the Shark River Hills Fire House.

 

Gas Drill

March 18, 2010

The Neptune Fire District 1 will be conducting a Gas Drill with the New Jersey Natural Gas Company on Thursday 3/18/10 at 7:00 pm at the Shark River Hills Fire House.  Topics to be reviewed will be procedures for Responding to Natural Gas and Carbon Monoxide Emergencies.  

 

Firehouse Weight Loss Challenge

March 4, 2010

The Fire District will be cheering on 5 members of the Unexcelled Fire Company who are participating in the annual Firehouse Weight Loss Challenge.  Members Bob McDonald, Lester Harker, Joe Mauro, Lou Carlson and Phil Williams are participating in this 8 week challenge that includes weekly weigh-ins, one-on-one coaching and an eight week membership to the Atlantic Club.  The challenge is sponsored by the Atlantic Club and will benefit the Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean County with a donation from the Atlantic Club for each pound that the Firefighters lose.  There are a total of 27 Firehouses that they are competing against.  The Firehouse that loses the most weight will also receive $1,000.  Good Luck to All!

 

Fire District Election Results

March 4, 2010

Congratulations to newly elected Fire Commissioner Frank Lane, Jr.  The Fire Budget was defeated 104 to 88.  The Neptune Township Committee will review the budget and have a public hearing on it on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 7:00 pm at the Summerfield School Cafeteria.

Congratulations to Chief Mike Siverson, sworn in on January 1, 2010 as the Township Chief for Neptune Fire District #1.  Also sworn in was Paul Annunziata as Assistant Township Chief.  Good Luck to both for a Fire Safe Year!  We extend our thanks to out going Chief Bob McDonald for a job well done!

NOTICE is herby given that an election will be held on Saturday February 20, 2010, between the hours of 2pm and 9pm at the following designated Polling Place:

        Neptune Township Municipal Building

                       Neptune, NJ  07753

The purpose of the election is to elect one (1) member for a term of three years to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Neptune Fire District No.1, Neptune, NJ.  Nominating Petitions for prospective candidates may be obtained either by written request or in person 

at the Board Office located at 230 Neptune Blvd.

The closing date for filing such petitions with the Clerk of the Board of Fire Commissioners is 

on or before 4:00 pm prevailing time, Friday January 15, 2010. 

 

SPECIAL MEETING BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS

BASKIN-ROBBINS CELEBRATES FIREFIGHTERS

May 1, 2009 

Hamilton Fire Company participated in the Baskin-Robbins 31 cent Scoop Night at the Dunkin Donuts/Baskin-Robbins location on 3351 St. Hwy 66 Wednesday Night 4/29/09.  The event sponsored by Baskin-Robbins was a nationwide tribute to firefighters with a donation from Baskin-Robbins going to the National Junior Firefighter Program.  Kids were treated to rides in the bucket of 34-1-90.  Hats and coloring books were also distributed.  A great Community Service Event.  Thanks to all who participated.

FIRE OFFICIAL RETIRES

Congratulations and best wishes to Ken Northrup on his retirement from the Fire Prevention Bureau after 25 years of service.  Thanks for keeping Neptune Township Fire Safe.

 

NEptune Fire District #1 Election Results

February 21, 2009

Congratulations to John Fritz for being re-elected to Fire Commissioner.  Also congratulations to Joe Shafto from Unexcelled, elected for a 3 year term.  The budget was approved by a vote of 177- Yes to 138- No.  A special thank you goes out to out-going Commissioner John Narciso for his service, time, dedication and commitment to the Board of Fire Commissioners during his term in office.
